New stablemate!!!

The TR6 is waiting for its new chassis to be picked up.

I'm planning a trip around Europe with my girlfriend and as we want to do it in a classic, I starting looking at cars on ebay, etc. I ended up buying a 1966 SIIa Land Rover on ebay, unseen.

It made it the 200odd miles back to France, only breaking down several times due to a problem with the fuel supply.

The previous owner had done a lot of cosmetic work but mechanically it seems sturdy enough although the clutch suffers from a 2-3second delay and the car has a marked lean to the right hand side. The tyres aren't suitable for serious road use and the springs are worn but the engine starts on the button, revs and ticks over smoothly.

Suspect air in the system is to blame for the poor clutch engagement so replacing the master and slave cyclinders will be the first job, along with the copper and flexi hoses.
